Our story began when our beloved grandfather opened a small taverna on the picturesque island of Kos, Greece. Initially the location was named after the charming village of Tigaki, our humble beginnings laid the foundation for what would later become a renowned dining destination.
In 1982, the torch was passed down to the father, who dedicated himself to nurturing the restaurant’s legacy. Under his stewardship, the restaurant continued to flourish, gaining a loyal following of locals and visitors alike.
In 2015, the current owner, took ownership of the place. A visionary with a passion for gastronomy, he saw great potential in the business and embarked on a journey to elevate it to new heights.
In 2020, the restaurant underwent a significant investment, evolving into a fully-fledged large restaurant that offers a delightful culinary experience – Rooster Restaurant. Nestled in a breathtaking location, we provide a range of facilities to enhance your visit. At Rooster Restaurant, we take pride in our team, and we’re thrilled to have Chef Giannis Gializis from Kos Island leading our kitchen since 2022. With his exceptional talent and extensive culinary education, Chef Giannis brings a wealth of expertise to our menu, ensuring that each dish is a masterpiece of flavors.
With around 40 tables and 120 seats, our restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for you to enjoy a memorable dining experience. While savoring our delectable Mediterranean cuisine, you’ll be surrounded by the stunning beauty of Kos Island and the Aegean Sea.
To enhance our dishes, we prioritize quality ingredients. We proudly use our own production of olive oil, delivering an authentic taste of the Mediterranean to your palate. Additionally, we source most of our vegetables and fruits from local vendors, many of whom are dedicated to organic farming practices, ensuring freshness and promoting sustainability.
We are not just passionate about food; we are also passionate about animals. As animal lovers, we take care of around 50 cats throughout the year, providing them with food and ensuring their well-being in both summer and winter.
